Latest Firefox (29) on Mac not working with 1Password [resolved]
Today I upgraded Firefox to the latest version (29) and since then the 1Password button which was in the top right of every browser window, has disappeared. :(
Searched everywhere but nowhere to be found it seems.
I tried re-installing the extension and restarting Firefox but nothing helps to get the button back; is 1Password not compatible with the latest Firefox version on Mac?

It works perfectly with my FF 29. Have you tried to add back the icon by customising FF?

How do you mean customising FF?
I do see 1Password 4.1.0 extension is installed, maybe that's too old or so?UPDATE / SOLVED: after removing the extension (didn't do that before), re-installing it and restarting Firefox, plus enabling the 1Password extension afterwards, it now shows. :)
So problem solved :)

I continue to have this problem. I've already deleted and reinstalled the extension for FF 29, and it shows for a while, and then disappears and I can't find any way to put it back on the toolbar. FF claims the issue is caused by the addon, not the upgrade.

So what's the solution?

Guess you're not really here to help, after all.

I am using FF not a lot, so this may sound stupid... When I upgraded to 1pwd4 , it wouldn't let me install it on FF. Whenever I kept pressing "Check for updates", FFv21 kept telling me that FF was up to date... Then I checked this support forum, where I just learned here that the latest FF version is v29! Lesson learned: Do not rely solely on an app's built-in update function... /:)

Hi @bluesky,
I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we experienced a surge in support requests recently. We're doing the best we can to get back to our usual speedy replies as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, the Firefox update has caused a bit of trouble with our Diagnostic Report, so I'm not able to find any details out that way. This means I'm going to have to rely on you to help me out here as we try a few things. So please bear with me here:
- Can you confirm that 1Password is enabled? (Look in the add-ons section of Firefox.)
- If you have a lot of other extensions installed in Firefox, you might want to look in the 'Customize' section to ensure that it's not just hiding somewhere.
Please let me know the results of these explorations and we'll investigate further!

I really believe it's a bug in FF, but the folks at Mozilla, in what seems to be a pattern, are denying that there are any bugs in FF 29 causing this.
FYI, it might help to know what I'm experiencing, which indicates to me that the issue is caused by FF:
1) I put the addon buttons on the toolbar. The URL and search fields narrow to accommodate them.
2) Everything stays as I arranged them for a while.
3) I open a new window. Now most of the addon buttons disappear from the toolbar and are accessible only by clicking a double-arrow dropdown menu that has appeared.
4) I go to customize, and there is no way to fix this by dragging and dropping because the buttons that have gone into the dropdown don't show anywhere in the customize window, so I hit Restore Defaults.
5) All of the addon buttons once again reappear where I put them.
6) I quit and restart FF.
7) Most of the addon buttons disappear from the toolbar, and I have to go to Customize again to put them all back where I put them before.0 -
Hi @bluesky,
When you say most of the add-on buttons, you mean to say 1Password's not the only one affected?
It is possible that this is a conflict between many of the current extension's hardcoded methods to stay on the toolbar and the new toolbar module they introduced in Firefox 29 to allow extensions to attach itself to the toolbar. This is the most likely the reason but I could be wrong here.
We will work on an update to our extension to add support for the new toolbar module. This new update is also more likely to come with a new icon that has a lighter gray tone to go with the new look in Firefox 29.
However, I can't reproduce the problem in my Firefox, 1Password stays on forever for me. One thing I suggest is creating a separate Firefox profile and see if that'll work for you.
