Does not recognize backup files from Version 2

I just upgraded to a new macbook pro from a 2005 white macbook - as that computer is very out of date, it hasn't updated 1Password since version 2. It still works great, but I am trying to move all my log ins over to the Version4. I've tried restoring from backup, but it doesn't recognize the file type (.backup), I've tried importing the data, but the export from the Version 2 is a .1pif, and Version 4 is asking for .agilekeychain. I tried just changing the extension on the file name, but that didn't work either. I also tried syncing to Dropbox from my iPhone app, but it wouldn't recognize my log in (and I checked my password on my computer to make sure I had the right one). Someone please help, I don't want to lose 9 years of passwords!!

1Password 4 for OS X can import .1pif files so you should be fine via that route. When you say it's asking for a .agilekeychain are you trying to import from a fresh installation with no vault made? I'd create a new empty, primary vault and then go via File : Import... - the default format selected for me was .1pif.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi @fellanie,

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting your data updated into 1Password 4 for Mac. @littlebobbytables‌'s suggestion of creating a new vault in 1Password 4 and importing should get you all sorted out, but if you hit any snags in the process, please let me know - we're here to help!

Ohhh so simple. It worked! I was so focused on the "I've used this before" option, I never would have thought to try this. Thank you both so much! I am up & running!! @littlebobbytables‌ and @Megan‌
