Username not filling on a 2-page login form
Hello,
One of the sites I use to login is split into two pages: first you fill the username, click "Submit" button, then fill password and another "Submit" to get inside. However the username does not want to fill and I have to copy/paste. Is there any reason for that?
I have checked that the username field html input element has a name of "userName", so I tried adding that field but with no luck.
Btw. the password is filling with no issues.
Here's the login page URL:

1P 5.0.2
OSX 10.10
Safari 8.0 / latest Chrome (issue present on both browsers)
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Tom

I'm not sure from what you say whether or not you've looked at this page in the manual on creating a multi-page login. If you haven't, does it help?

@Stephen_C @littlebobbytables Thanks for pointing to a possible solution, however when I am on that first page where username is provided, I cannot see the "Save new login" option under 1Password button...
I tried another option - going to login page, creating new login direclty in 1P app, providing the URL without the ¶meters (they are changing each time), and then creating that additional field for "userName". Again - no luck.
Any other hints?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi @bzx
That one has me stumped for the moment. I think your best option for now is to keep two logins for that particular site, one for each page. Not ideal I know but that seems to work and like yourself I can't figure out why it shouldn't work over both pages. I'll battle with it a bit more in the morning.

Perhaps I didn't explain my problem in a clear manner: the main issue is, that on the page where username is provided, 1P doesn't want to fill that field. It has slightly different name ("userName" with capital N), so I tried adding that extra field to the website data, with no luck.
You can probably play around with that page, create a fake login to see that the form is not filled.
Having two logins for that one site is not a problem for me, if only this would work..
Thanks
Tom

@bzx That's odd because if I followed Saving a Login Manually on just the single page the login item worked, it only stopped working for me once I tried to augment the Login item with the password. That's what really messed with my head. So that doesn't work for you?

@littlebobbytables Ok I know why I couldn't save the login manually - I could not see the option because:
I am using DarkMode in Yosemite - any chance of making the cog a bit lighter?
Anyhow: I saved the login manually, then saved the password in the same fashion, when I return to the website and then press my shortcut and choose the username entry, the field is not filled, the same for the password.
Any other hints?
Thanks

My entry looks the same. I also got 2 website URLs, and I do have the "userName" field as well as the "username" field.

Hi @bzx,
I think I've got this figured out! I created a Login manually for this page, using Safari, and when I initially created the entry, 1Password did not correctly mark my 'userName' as the username (see the little head icon next to the userName in web form details?) Once I added this manually, the details filled, both in Safari and Chrome.
Could you take a closer look at your entry and see if that little 'username' icon is properly listed in the web form details?
Thanks so much for your patience as we work to sort this out. :)

Yes! Full success.
That was it. By the way I learned what those icons mean - they're not that straightforward at first sight, and I'm considering myself savvy ;) Perhaps a label would help here.
Anyhow, @Megan, thank you for your hint, it helped 200%, as I was able to hook up the password into the same entry so in fact I don't need two separate entries.
Thanks all!

Hi Tom ( @bzx ),
I'm thrilled to hear that you're all sorted out! I apologize for the confusion there.
Thanks so much for your feedback on the matter. Icons can be a lot 'prettier' than text, but they only help if users know what they are there for. I'll be sure to pass your thoughts along.
If you hit any further snags with 1Password, we're here to help!
