I'm seeing the "Trial expired" message, but I recently upgraded to 1Password 4.
I paid $24.99 to upgrade from 1Password 3 to 1Password 4 in the middle of September. After allowing some kind of prompted upgrade from version 4 to version 5 to go ahead, I find that my "trial has expired" and I'm expected to pay $24.99 to upgrade again--less than 2 months later after paying to upgrade to version 4.
Is this really AgileBits' upgrade policy? It's pretty harsh. I expect software upgrade charges to happen once a year at the most frequent.

First take a deep breath, .... its no where as bad as you think it is.
Upgrades to 1Password 5 are free to all users. You are not expected to pay again
See this topic re: to re apply your license .
I assume you are seeing the upgrade button in the license window ? This is a bug and scheduled for fixing. It is already fixed in the betas.

Hi! When I upgraded to 1Password 4 (Mac Family license) in August, no new Key (serial number) was provided. It just used my iPassword 3 key. Now, when I try to upgrade to 1Password 5, the only option (based on my key) is to pay for the upgrade. How can I get a 1Password 5 upgrade from my valid v.4 key, when your website mistakenly recognizes it as a v.3 key?

v4 doesn't use a license key it used a license file. Make sure and download the file and reapply it to v5. You say the site mistakenly says its v3 thats because it is a v3 key, and not the v4 or v5 file.
resend my my license key/files Once the email is received you will see a link to automatically apply your license.

Hi @JayNelson
I've located your license details in our back office records using the email address attached to your forum account and am resending you your license information. You do indeed have a license for 1Password 5. The email should include instructions to help you install the license file, but if you have any further questions, we're here to help!
