1Password for Mac 5 not working from Safari Extension for some sites

So I have been having this problem recently (maybe the upgrade to Yosemite, but think before, where the 1P extension will show the site's info, and allow me to copy it, but pasting pastes NOTHING into the WebSites Password field (and perhaps not Username, not sure.

I end up having to manually open 1P app, reveal the password, and then type it manually into the Website's field.... REALLY a pain.

An example Website (from just tonight) is Keurig.com

Please look into and fix... this is quite a pain.

  • Hi @MacJoe10,

I just did some testing on Keurig.com to see what's going on. Unfortunately there's really nothing that we can do to allow you to copy/paste the password into the password field as it's getting stopped by the Keurig web developers which is out of our control. However... I was able to simply use the cmd-\ shortcut which asks 1Password to fill the current page. Because the 1Password extension itself can do fills for you and doesn't rely on copy/paste it can by-pass the limitations imposed by the Keurig developers.

So instead of manually copy/pasting the values, try the cmd-\ shortcut next time and choose Keurig if it asks you which site you want to fill. It should do all of the work for you.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Rick. I actually went to the copy/paste idea after the \ approach failed to fill in.... but that was with v3.8 of 1P. I've updated and it still didn't look like it worked, but I'll give it another try. Thanks for the fast turn-around. Joe

    Hi @MacJoe10,

I'm sorry that the keyboard shortcut doesn't seem to be behaving for you. Let's see if we can figure out why.

First of all, could you let me know the version numbers of 1Password, your browser, and the browser extension? (The browser extension details are usually found in the Preferences > Extensions pane of the browser.)

Next, please let me know the steps that you take to fill a Login with 1Password. This will allow us to better recreate your steps, which might give us a better idea of where things are getting tangled up. :)
