1Password for wife's Mac
Hello, new user here & so far love it over another password app. Downloaded for 3 ios devices first then purchased 1Password 5 for my Mac from App Store. Got everything synced thru wireless home network, everything working great. Transferred my 1Password 5 to her Mac, activated & App Store asked for verification of my App Store password & then installation activated. However, it will not connect for wireless sync to acquire the information stored on any of the other devices including her iPad. The sync attempt provides the secret word but the window on the iOS device does not open for entering the secret word. All devices including Macs are running latest OS & wireless network is functioning. What am I doing wrong? My Mac, iPhone, mini iPad & her IPad are all getting along great. It's her Mac that's not wanting to join the group. Thanks for any assistance u may provide, I hope I'm not required to purchase an additional 1Password App for her Mac

Hi @bgoodz
I think I understand the issue at hand. When you set up syncing it remains set that way until you as the user disable it. So if all the devices are currently wanting to sync to your Mac (which I think is the situation) then they won't offer to sync to your wife's Mac.
Now it is possible to use an iOS device as a bridge between two Macs when you use Wi-Fi Sync but Wi-Fi Sync wasn't designed for this particular situation so I've always been reluctant to suggest it. Instead, if you want all the devices to sync a single vault between the two of you then you might find Dropbox a better fit.
Now if it's the case that you're saying you have an iOS device that isn't trying to Wi-Fi Sync to your Mac but refuses to sync with your wife's, that's a different matter. If that's the case do please let us know. Mostly trying a reboot of both devices helps (iOS 8 and Yosemite's networking isn't brilliant).
Either way please do let us know and if you have further questions do post here

Thank you for the response LBT, yes I think u understood my attempt at explaining the situation. And yes, all three iOS devices are syncing with my Mac 1Password 5. I just tested with a new login in test. Its her Mac with 1Password 5 that won't communicate wirelessly(with her iPad) to bring in all the current 1Password data. Thats too bad as everything so far has worked great and keeping the devices up to date with new or modified entries. One of the iOS devices in the group is her new iPad. We were trying to get everything working together so she wouldn't have to hunt down her iPad to look up a password when she's working on her Mac. We were trying to keep everything securely in house.
Now, if Dropbox is the only answer (no to iCloud) to keeping all devices in sync then all devices need to be set up using Dropbox? Does the Dropbox sync automatically or have to be done manually for each device when there's a modification ? Ultimately its trying to share one vault with 2 Macs and 3 iOS's.
Your applications are great, but I'm concerned I'm starting to rely on 1Password so much then I'm going to start to forget things......more
thank you,

Hi @bgoodz,
If iCloud isn't an option then yea... Dropbox would be your only real solution for iOS <-> Mac sync. The good news is that it's as seamless as iCloud once setup. You just need to have one device create the AgileKeychain on Dropbox first, then point all other devices to this AgileKeychain. Macs will need the Dropbox app installed, but I don't think iOS devices need the app itself in order to make it all happen.
Once setup you just make changes on one devices and they'll automatically show up on the other devices.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Rick, you've summed it up for us. We'll try the Dropbox method of syncing for all devices.

Thanks for the follow up LBT. Yes, all is going well & thanks Rick for the explanations & directions. Switched 2 Macs & 3 iOS Devices & all are syncing via Dropbox. I read your step by step how to instructions. I might add the laptop later, still thinking about it. My wife was always asking me what her password was for this & that, now she has her own data base. I was keeping everything on an Excel Spread Sheet but that wasn't very secure. Switched everything over to a "Safe" App which was better than Excel however no where near the quality & versatility of 1Password. Will surely recommend to friends.
Thanks again for your support!
