Trial Period Expired
Per your website/upgrade policy "When you purchase AgileBits software your license will never expire and you can use it on the current version of the licensed application indefinitely. "
I have a license key from my initial download way back when. I have used version 4 with no problems. However, I do not have a license file that 1pw5 is seeking. Your website just runs around in circles trying to correct this issue. I feel I have paid for and used 1password already and am unclear on why i need to pay for an upgrade and/or how to go about it.
I have asked for a new license file via email which has not worked either.
This is overly frustrating for no good reason that I can see...

Apologies for the frustrations you're currently experiencing. Have you had a look at this thread in the forums? It has a nice rundown of the steps required to re-license 1Password 5.
If the link above doesn't help you can send an email to support+licenses@agilebits.com along with a link to this thread, your username and any additional details regarding your 1Password 4 purchase such as the email address you used to make the purchase and your receipt if you have it handy. Reply here once you've sent that email.
We'll get to the bottom of this!
