iCloud sync between devices
I am running 1Password 5.0.2 on Mac OS X Yosemite on a MacBook Pro, the latest Mac Pro, and iPhone 6, and the first iPad Mini. I have all these devices syncing to iCloud. All devices are signed into the same iCloud account. When I update a password on the MacBook Pro I have noticed it is not updating on the other devices. I compared my iCloud settings, the only thing I noticed different is the MacBook Pro shows in the iCloud settings that it syncs with "1Password mini".
Any help would be appreciated on why I am having these issues?
Thank you for your assistance!
Brian

Hi @bdsmith63,
I'm sorry you're having some difficulty with iCloud sync! You mentioned a change to 1Password on your MacBook Pro doesn't sync anywhere. If you make a change to 1Password on your Mac Pro, iPhone, or iPad, do they sync with each other?
To figure out why it's not working, let's start by checking the sync settings in 1Password on each Mac and iOS device:
On each Mac, open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. Do both Macs show that 1Password is syncing with iCloud? If not, follow these steps to set up iCloud sync.
On your iPhone and iPad, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync. Do both devices show that the Sync Service is iCloud? If not, follow these steps to set up iCloud sync.
Let us know how it goes and if you need to set up iCloud sync on any device. Thanks!

Hello Drew,
Thanks for the reply! I just checked all my other devices, they are all showing they are synced with iCloud. I made a change to one item on my Mac Pro, I checked my iPhone, iPad, and even my Mac Mini Server where I have the software installed and they all instantly reflected the updated change, however, the MacBook Pro does not show any change to that particular item.
So what should be my next step on the MacBook Pro?
Thanks,
Brian

Hello Guy's
I to have the same problem my mac 10.10.1 and my max box pro 10.10.1 I added a new site with a username and password on the mac and it’s not syncing with my mac box pro. I opened preferences / sync and I only have two options to sync with - Dropbox or Folder. I opened mac / preferences / iCloud and I have a tic in the iCloud drive / options and 1password mini has a tic enabled. my other app's are working fine such as contacts/calendar.
Lets hope someone can figure it out for use.
Happy new year to all.0 -
Definitely! Thanks for your post buddy. I just want my MacBook Pro to work with the rest of my devices. It causes issues when I update something especially when paying a bill on my laptop and then go to my Mac Pro to do some transaction and 1Password doesn't find what I thought I updated already and then I have to start all over and screw things around.

Hi @miltonBA,
If you only see options for Dropbox and Folder sync, it sounds like you have the web store version of 1Password 5, which does not have iCloud sync. Due to the way the new iCloud sync works, we're only able to include it in the Mac App Store version of 1Password 5. We have more information about that in our Web store and iCloud FAQ.
Do you have the iCloud sync option in 1Password 5 on either Mac? If so, it sounds like you purchased the Mac App Store version, and you just need to install it from the Mac App Store on your other Mac as well.
If you haven't previously purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, you would need to do so in order to use iCloud sync. Alternately, you can switch to Dropbox or Wi-Fi sync:
I'm sorry for any confusion about that! If you get the Mac App Store version of 1Password 5 for Mac and still need help to get iCloud sync working, or if you need help setting up Dropbox or Wi-Fi sync, please let us know.

Hi @bdsmith63,
Thanks for checking that! So, at least we know the issue is only happening on your MacBook Pro, and is working fine on your other Mac and iOS devices. That definitely narrows things down a bit.
On your MacBook Pro, please take a look through our troubleshooting checklist for iCloud sync. You may have checked a few of those things already, but some of the things there may be very helpful. Please let us know how it goes, thanks!

The version I have on my MacBook Pro (which is the one not syncing) is from the App Store. It shows it is syncing with iCloud. I also noticed the option to disable syncing is greyed out. Does this mean anything? I am fairly sure I put all copies on my computers from the App Store and as well on my devices definitely.

I have the same issue as bdsmith63. I have downloaded the 1password app from the app store and have it on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. The iCloud settings are correct on the iOS devices. When I choose preferences, and sync, I see just two options, dropbox and folder. I have checked, rechecked, and read the FAQs, user guide, etc., and this problem still persists. I have spent way too much time trying to figure this out. What steps should I take next to resolve this issue?

After checking all the items listed in the basic troubleshooting list for iCloud, I then proceeded to the advanced troubleshooting guide and performed all those steps and now my MacBook Pro is syncing with all the other devices. I guess there was just something not harmonizing well with my laptop as it's the newest of all my devices. I had an older MacBook Pro running the exact same setup and I now am curious if this syncing had something to do with the data between the old laptop and the new laptop data.
Thanks for you help Drew. I you other guys have success attempting these steps. I love 1Password.
