Chrome Extension 4.2.5.90 with OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 does not work well

Many of the times I click on a login from within 1Password on my Mac and it opens the right page but does not fill in the login and password. Sometimes it does, mostly it does not.

I had wondered if it was because the makers of the websites had changed their code and maybe 1Password could not seem to figure where to place the username and password? I created a new login for one site today, for my cPanel login and that seemed to fix it, or it was just coincidental. However it happens a lot of the time and I just tried the same approach to get it to log me into my Freshbooks account and that did not work. I tried it several times. I even tried it so that it would not be doing so on the first tab, (because I saw another post referring to that problem). No luck.

I primarily use Chrome these days.

I opened Safari and went to my login page for Freshbooks (just my current test case) and used the mini icon on the browser to fill the data and it worked easily.

I have restarted my computer many times since updating to Yosemite and recently was in to Apple to get my computer looked over before my applecare plan expired and it checkout out working great. Although this problem has been ongoing for a long time. Not sure honestly if it started with Yosmemite. I actually think it has been going on much longer, since Mavericks.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi @yunus,

I'm sorry you're having trouble getting 1Password to fill some login forms! Just to make sure I understand, are you saying the problem is happening in Chrome, but works correctly in Safari? Also, is this happening with only some of your Login items, or all of them?

If the problem seems to happen with only some of your Logins, you can try manually saving new Logins for some of those to see if it helps. Although, if those same Logins work in Safari, I'm not sure that will help (but might be worth trying).

There have also been a few recent issues with the 1Password extension in Chrome, so you can try the latest beta version of the extension to see if it solves the problem. To install the beta extension:

    • Open this link in Chrome.
    • Click the link for Enable betas (underneath the Install button).
    • Click the big green Install button and follow any additional steps.

Please let us know how it all goes, thanks!

I am having the same problems as Yunus (1/9/15). My operating system is OSx 10.10.1 running on a late 2009 iMac. The Chrome browser that I'm having the problems in is Version 39.0.2171.65 (64 bit) with both 1 Password beta ext. 4.3.0.7 and ext 4.2.5.90. I'm also having a few problems in Safari 8.0.2 (10600.2.5) and extension 4.2.5. I have a Google Drive spreadsheet detailing the problems, but I can't get it attached here. Of 47 log ins, I must copy/paste 24 of them. Four of the 24 are multi page log ins which don't work in either Chrome or Safari.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi @73Jim

Can I ask, using a couple of these problem Login items as a sample, do they behave any differently if you create a brand new Login item using our Saving a Login Manually guide?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but I've spent many hours the last few days trying to detail how each of my 47 log ins act. I'm still not sure my findings are 100% correct. 30 of the 47 do not work exactly like they should. Most of them I can live with the way they are, but thought you would like to know of the problems. I realize that some may not be fixable i.e. the multi pages ones. No, saving the manual log ins didn't help. How can I send you my Google Sheets detailing the problems which I have saved in the PDF format? I appreciate your help. I am using 1 Password version 5.0.2 (502007).

    Thank You,

    Jim

    Hi @73Jim,

It sounds like you've been doing a lot of research here! I'm sorry that your Logins seem to be acting up. If you have data for us to look over, it might be easier to continue this conversation via email. Could you send an email in to support+forums@agilebits.com with the necessary details? Please include a link to this thread and your forum username so it's easier for us to connect the dots.
