How do I sync 1Password for Mac with the data on my iOS devices?

I love the program on my mobile devices and am more than willing to pay for the iMac. My question is:

Is the paid program easy to sync with the information I've already loaded into the mobile devices?

How are you syncing your data now between your iOS devices?

The short answer to your question is, Yes, it's easy to sync your current data to your Mac. I'm going to guess that you are currently using iCloud for syncing. It that's right, and you want to continue using iCloud, be sure you buy your OS X license from the Mac App Store, not from the AgileBits web store. Only software sold by Apple is able to sync via iCloud. Both version can use Dropbox for the same purpose, and it's easy to set that up as well.

Your title made me think you expected not to have to pay for the Mac version if you already had the iOS version. As you have discovered, the licenses are sold on a per-platform basis. Your iOS license won't cover another platform, such as OS X or Windows, for example.

You may discover that it is worth it to upgrade your free iOS version to the more advanced Pro version once you become more familiar with how the Mac and iOS version work together. That is accomplished with an in-app purchase.

Thanks much. This software looks like a combination of very intuitive and far more complex than I initially thought. Do you have a recommended way of learning it? Video tutorial? Other? Thanks again for your help.

I learned by stumbling around and, honestly, it wasn't too painful. I recommend that you purchase from the Mac Store because that's the only way you'll be able to sync via iCloud.

The User Guide is actually pretty complete. And there lots of folks here who are eager to answer you questions when you get stuck.

    Hi @rrayr1200GS‌,

Well, I'm glad to hear that at least some of 1Password is intuitive for you! Have a look through the User Guide that Hawkmoth posted, I hope it answers all your questions. Of course, if something about 1Password is still complex and baffling to you, please let me know and we'll walk through it. :)
