Move 1password from Web store version to App store on MAC [Moved to email]
I have 1password 1Password 5 installed on my current mac but want to move it to app store version so that I can take advantage of the icloud sync.. Also I have another mac running older snow lepoard and I am not able to install the license. According the doc it says I can use it for 5 systems
Version 5.0.2 (502007)

Version 5 only works on Yosemite, which explains why you can't run it on Snow Leopard. I'm not sure whether there is a way for you to get a working version for Snow Leopard from the MAS, but there might be. One of the other forum participants will have to weigh in on that. I'm going to guess that you won't be able to use iCloud to sync between version 5 and whatever works on Snow Leopard, though. iCloud syncing protocols changed a lot when Yosemite came out.
It is true that the license allows use by up to six family members in the same household. With respect to yourself, the license allows you to install in on all the Macs you use yourself, so both machines are included.
There are instructions in the Knowedge Base for how to move from the AgileBits webs store version to the Mac App Store version. Here is the link.

Hi Thx for the reply.. I went to the kB and found that if I try to do that it asks me to buy 1password again on the app store.

The Mac App Store has no record of your purchases at the AgileBits web store, and the AgileBits folks get no information about who purchases from Apple. So it is not a surprise that you are being asked to buy the application when you try to get it from Apple.
If you purchased your copy from AgileBits within the last 30 days, they will issue you a refund and you can use the money to buy again from Apple. If you are outside that 30 refund window, your options are to buy again, if you want to move to the Apple-supplied version enough to warrant the expense. For me, I've been fine with Dropbox for syncing since Apple took away the option to use iCloud for syncing from applications that are not sold by Apple. I bought my license from AgileBits, and although I'm annoyed with Apple for that decision, I didn't think the difference was worth paying for another license. YMMV.

good point agree it might not be worth but I am still not able to install on my old Mac book running Snow Leopard. I was hoping that it will not be a problem if I had teh app version on apple

The same license works for version 5 and 4, and version 4 can be downloaded from towards the bottom of the downloads page.
I forget if version 4 can be used in Snow Leopard, but I think so. If not, Agile will generate a version 3 license for you and I am fairly sure version 3 can also be downloaded.

@nag - As @danco said, you can get legacy versions of 1Password from AgileBits by scrolling down to the bottom of the Download page. I just took a look, at is seems that you will need to use 1Password 3.8 if you want to run it on Snow Leopard. I don't know what your options for syncing will be, though.
Edit: Removed my erroneous statement about version 3 and Dropbox syncing.

Hi @nag
I couldn't find a record of your forum email address in our database so I can't say when you purchased 1Password. What you've been told so far is true,
We can't transfer a Agile Web Store (AWS) licence to an Apple Mac App Store (MAS) one as the functionality simply doesn't exist on Apple's end.
You wouldn't be able to download 1Password 3 for your Snow Leopard machine but we would be willing to generate a 1Password 3 key for you on proof of your Apple receipt for 1Password (MAS).
Saying that, if your goal is to have these machines sync then iCloud will not be an option. iCloud Sync requires all machines and devices to be running either Yosemite or iOS 8. This is an Apple requirement as is limiting access to the CloudKit framework (what we use to perform the iCloud Sync) to purchases made through their stores.
You will be able to use Dropbox Sync though to keep 1Password 3 and 1Password 5 in sync. Dropbox did indeed change their Dropbox API a while back but that affected only 1Password for iPhone (AKA v3 for iOS). 1Password 3 for Mac leaves the Dropbox stuff to the Dropbox service that you would run on your machine.
If you have any further questions do please ask

Hi @nag
If you're looking for a refund and you purchased less than 30 days ago then we can bypass the messaging part and you can email us directly from your other email address, the one you purchased 1Password with. Our email address is support+licenses@agilebits.com and you'll want to include the following:
- Just a quick message saying you're looking for refund, you can state because you wish to switch to Apple's Mac App Store (MAS) version but the 30 days covers any reason.
- A link to this thread.
Once you've done that if you were to post the ticket ID sent to you from our automated response it might speed matters up by allowing us to locate your ticket given you'll be emailing from a different address.
