Problem with 1password mini
I run password on networked iMac and macbook pro.
When I open 1password on iMac, I am now getting the following error message:
The system launched an incorrect version of 1Password mini.
Instead of '/Applications/1Password.app/Contents/LoginItems' it started '/Volumes/MACBOOK_PRO/Applications/1Password.localized/1Password.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems'.
Please make sure you have only one copy of 1Password on your Mac.
If I then just log into password, everything runs as normal.
I have one copy of 1password running on both computers (same version 5.1 (510027) mac app store.
The message though is clearly pointing to the MacBook Pro
I have tried restarting 1password mini but makes no difference.
I do sync both computers using chronosync and wondering whether a setting from MacBook Pro has get transferred across.
But I am at a loss as to what to do to get rid of the error message.
I can send log details if necessary.
Thanks

@titanium I have deleted your two additional identical posts.
OS X Yosemite gets in a muddle if it finds more than one copy of 1P on any disk attached to your machine (however it's attached). Some people seemt to think that's resolved by upgrading to OS X 10.10.2. I don't know what version you are using.
Otherwise solutions for your situation are a little tricky. What you might try is this:
- Disconnect the iMac from the network, reboot and re-start 1P.
- If that works properly reconnect the iMac to the network, keep running 1P and see if that cures the problem.

Hi @titanium,
That's odd. A glitch meant I saw a double post but removing the duplicate appears to have cleared the both. I'm not too sure what happened there but I don't think we've lost any information from your thread.
Now to your issue.
You seem to have the entire hard drive of your MacBook Pro mounted on your iMac. Thanks to a bug in Yosemite it trawls your drive, finds two instances of 1Password mini and yes, it launches the wrong one. The issue is specific to Yosemite and isn't present in Mavericks. So far all we've been able to do is inform the user when this happens. Why it goes wandering off when 1Password is stored inside the 1Password application package we don't know.
You have one of two options. I believe some people have had success if they stop Spotlight scanning the mounted volume but you may need to force a reindexing afterwards to ensure the contents of the mounted drive have been removed. The other option I'm afraid is simply not to have the entire drive mounted. If you're using ChronoSync is it to synchronise documents from your user account? If it is you might be able to simply mount your user account rather than the entire drive and that would resolve it.
Let us know if either of those solutions work for you.

I have the same problem. I have a backed up image drive using SuperDuper and I get the same basic message that the "wrong" version (from the backup) of 1P mini has launched. Since I create backups frequently I leave the backup drive connected and do not really want to be disconnecting and reconnecting it frequently.

Hi @wreathall,
Can you instruct SuperDuper! to ignore the 1Password application bundle in your Applications folder? If you can then that will resolve the issue and you can always download the app again direct from our AgileBits Download page or from Apple's App Store depending on where you originally purchased it.

Removing the backup drive from Spotlight (in the Privacy section of Spotlight's preferences) may help. I gather this is not certain to work, but is the simplest thing to try and may work.
Are your SuperDuper backups done on a schedule, or do you make them manually. Scheduled backups will, I think, mount unmounted drives to perform the backup (though I believe they may not unmount the drive again at the end).
You certainly don't need to physically disconnect and reconnect the backup drive, as you could always unmount it (and remount it) in Disk Utility, which is easy enough, and should certainly work.

Thanks for providing suggestions on SuperDuper, danco!
