Dropbox Syncing Not Working
Hi,
I'm having issues with syncing. I've been using 1password for years and have had no problems, but recently my Mac pro and iMac are not syncing up through Dropbox. I've tried turning dropbox sync off and then re-added it but this doesn't seem to help. Both machines are running the most up-to-date version. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi @steve.anderson,
I'm sorry you're having trouble with Dropbox sync! For the steps below, I'm assuming you're using 1Password 4 or 5 on both Macs, but if you're using 1Password 3, please stop here and let us know.
Let's take a look at the sync settings in 1Password on both Macs:
- Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
- Click the Sync tab
- Make sure Dropbox is selected as the sync option for your vault
- Check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file
Follow those steps on each Mac. If Dropbox sync is not enabled in 1Password on either Mac, follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.
If Dropbox sync is enabled in 1Password on both Macs, but if they are syncing with different keychain files in Dropbox, you'll need to disable the sync, then set it up again and choose the correct keychain file.
Let us know how it goes and we'll take it from there. Thanks!

Thanks for that.
I checked that both macs have the same file path and they do. Both also have the same software version 1password 5 installed. The only difference I could see is that on my imac the file size for the agilekeychain is 10.1MB and on my macpro is is 10.2 (so I guess the non updated passwords as on that file and for some reason it's not syncing properly). The other thing I noticed is the sync icon is showing on the file for the macbook pro (rather than the green check) yet dropbox indicates all files are synced...odd.
Thanks,

After looking at things more closely I figured that it was an issue with dropbox not syncing properly rather than an issue with one password. The solution was to unlink the droxbox account on my macbookpro and then relink it. Once I did that all the files synced across like they should.
Thanks for you time.0 -
Hi @steve.anderson,
That's great to hear you've got syncing working once more and thank you for reporting back. Fingers crossed it's years again before you have any problems but if not you know where we are.
