1Password 5 closes unexpectedly

I just bought the new 1Password 5 from the MacApp store. have been using 1Password now for many years and have never had the trouble that I am having now.
When I try to log in, it accepts my login password, but immediately closes. When I try to open it again by entering my password, nothing happens.

Would appreciate some help here,

    That can be a symptom of having more than one copy of 1P on your machine—or, indeed, on some disk that is permanently attached to it. Is that a possibility?
