Crash on changing an item keyword, and other littles things
What I would like with 1Password, now I use to use it well and often.
- Trim the keywords : it seems that a keyword beginning unexpectedly with a space (or a non-printable character) has caused a crash (supposition or chance? see your crash report from me), suppress heading and leading spaces and replace multiple spaces by one space (« Service public » —> «Service public»).
- Tag visually the « edition not finished » items (« Reprendre l’édition »), when hundreds of items it is hard to find them in between.
- Correct the french localization, where « Connexion » and « Identifiant » are used for the same category.
- Display the category of a selected item, when hundreds of items it is hard to manage.
For the remainder it is (almost) perfect!
I can't imagine what will be done without it, and how I did before in my terrible drudgery.

Hi @MichelMorat,
I hope you don't mind if I ask for a bit more detail.
- Trim the keywords. I did try adding a leading space to field labels and tags but neither caused a crash. I tried both as I was't exactly sure I understood what you meant by keywords. If something is crashing 1Password we definitely want to know. Could you describe what you mean here please. If you find it easier sometimes screenshots can clear things up. All we ask is you remember that this is a public forum so you wouldn't want to show anything sensitive.
- You're looking for a way to locate items you didn't explicitly click save on and are in a limbo-like state, is that correct?
- I found what you're referring to  All I would need to know now is which is correct. Relying on my French is not a good idea and Google/Bing Translate aren't helping either. Google suggested
login
,ouverture de session
&identifiant
as possibilities so maybe Identifiant? - Would I be correct in saying you're viewing All Items and from within there you would like to know what category a particular item belongs to. Each category type has it's own icon so is it reasonable to say you don't find those very useful or maybe you hadn't noticed them? Certainly if we place a feature request. Normally I look at a particular category so I find myself using All Items less and less. We can place a feature request for this though
Thank you for the feedback and anything you can say that will help with the questions I've asked

1) Yes I had a crash while closing a correction on a keyword having - probably a space - in head, may be a coincidence, who knows? A crash report has been automatically sent to Apple, and while relaunch 1Password sent you a report with my comments and mail. It occurred only once.
1') Yes I would appreciate a Trim on Keywords (not passwords obviously), but that is not a major case :-)
2) Yes I am looking for "a way to locate items I didn't explicitly click save on and are in a limbo-like state", I miss a way to identify them without ambiguity. I lost with that a password of my router's configuration page, may be an error of mine but that is not ergonomic, I had to dive in my paper archives down in the cellar, an awful fright!
3) In SideBar and Mini you call it "Identifiants" (plural), in the contextual menu of [+] at the bottom of window you call it "Connexion" (singular).
In french "Connexions"/"Connexion" should be better for the category title, "Identifiant" is only the way to connect, and is is used such as in other categories; Google missed "Connexion"; "Connexions"/"Connexion" would avoid to confuse (I use to correct many texts in french for publications, that not the case for my english, as you may read :-)
4) Yes, icons are definitely not relevant, being changed with custom ones. An help ballon should be enough, up to you.Thank you,

Hi @MichelMorat,
- I'm still unsure what you are referring to when you say keywords. I think once I have a better idea it might make a lot more sense. I did try enabling French as my preferred language to see if anything obvious would stand out but it didn't help :(
- I've added your request to an existing ticket for this feature ref: OPM-1661
- Thank you for the explanation. I'm enquiring how to proceed as I haven't used Crowdin before. It would seem we use identifiant(s) in quite a few places where by the sounds of it we really mean connexion(s). Thank you for the correction
- I've added your request to an existing ticket for this feature ref: OPM-1486
I can't make any promises for the feature requests I'm afraid but I have noted your interest and can say that as we had open tickets that you're not alone in these wishes

Hello,
1) May be it is not the keyword that did the crash, refer to the 1P crash report you may have.1bis) Completly indépendant from the crash, yes, I think the trim of "keywords" (mot-clé) should be a good thing, but it is only a personal opinion; because of one blank space more I didn't retrieve at once the item I was looking for "Service public". The aim is to find items having similarities, not to eliminate some.
Be sure I appreciate you product, I need it very often during a day, here is the reason why I send remarks, otherwise I wouldn't spend time to!

Hi Michel ( @MichelMorat ),
Thanks so much for the kind words about 1Password - it's great to hear that you care enough about the app to take the time to report these issues that are bothering you. We appreciate this very much!
May be it is not the keyword that did the crash, refer to the 1P crash report you may have.
Crash reports are sent in to a special queue for our developers - it's not something that we on the customer support team have regular access to. While I work on tracking this down, I'm wondering if you could provide us with a screenshot of the keyword that you are talking about. 'Keyword' is not a term that we use regularly to define anything in 1Password, so I think we have a bit of a language/translation misunderstanding here. If you can show us visually on your screen what you're talking about, we might have a better idea of where things are potentially getting tangled up. (Of course, please ensure that you are not showing any sensitive information in the screenshot! To include the screenshot in your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:
Thanks so much for you patience as we work through this. :)

Hello,
For the crash, I understand that is up to the development team, no problem.
For the "keywords" (translation back ok mots-clés in french) here is the screen capture.
That is only an user's personal opinion, of course.Cordialement,

Hi @MichelMorat,
Thank you for that image, it helped  I shall make sure to report everything that I haven't already.
For the moment though you are limited to manually editing the mots-clés (tags). In the Sidebar you should be able to see your tags (see below).
When you select a tag you have three ways to edit the name.
- Just like in Finder, you can press the enter key
⏎
key to edit the name of the tag. - Just like in Finder, you can left click once more to edit the name of the tag.
- You can right click on the tag and select the Renommer option.
I realise this isn't as convenient as an automatic solution but it should at least allow you to tidy up your mots-clés now if you want to.

Thank you
