Purchased a new mac and trying to transfer 1 password. The new computer now has 1password installed and running, but in the app, there is no file vault. The whole file menu is greyed out, and the first item, 'new item' has no submenu.

How can I create a vault or import the old one?

    Hi @christiantherapy,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble getting 1Password set up on a new Mac!

Can you please describe the steps you took to install the 1Password app on your new Mac? And did you take any steps to sync or copy your 1Password data from one Mac to another? What exactly do you see in the main 1Password window when you open the app? (Or is the problem that you don't see any window at all when you open 1Password?)

If you copied the 1Password app from the old Mac to the new one, you may want to download a fresh copy by following these steps:

    • Go to the Applications folder and drag 1Password 5.app to the Trash (do not use any app cleaning tools).
    • Empty the Trash, then reboot your Mac.
    • After the reboot, download a fresh copy of 1Password 5 from our download site.
    • Once downloaded, unzip the file if necessary and drag it to the Applications folder.
    • Double-click the new app to open it.

Does it work now, or do you still have the same problem?
