I had an old 1Password that I didn't use. I forgot the Master Password. I just bought version 6.
I deleted every file that I could find. It is still asking for the old Master Password. I don't care about any of the passwords in the old vault. I want to start fresh.

Hi @Walter_borden1,
I see you have visited our starting over guide. If you follow that guide, when you launch 1Password 6 for Mac it should ask you if you want to create a new vault or use existing data. Every step in the guide though is important as caching can throw a massive spanner in the works. That means you need to make sure you've properly quit not just 1Password but also 1Password mini and the reboot too, again due to aggressive caching.
Now the guide does refer to the two versions of 1Password as 1Password can be purchased either directly from us (AgileBits Store) or from Apple's Mac App Store (Mac App Store). The two store their support files in separate locations so if you attempt to follow the steps for the one you don't have then 1Password will still ask you for a Master Password instead of asking if you would like to create a new vault.
Does any of this help at all?
