In Beta 6.0.269, 1Password mini keyboard shortcut no longer brings up list of matched logins

Hi, I've just updated to beta 6.0.269 on Windows, and I've noticed that the keyboard shortcut for the 1Password mini extension no longer brings up a list of matched passwords for the currently loaded web-site. Instead it now shows all the passwords in your vault. Bringing it up multiple times with the keyboard shortcut doesn't change the list of logins, like it did in previous betas.

However, I've noticed that, if you use the 1Password toolbar button in your browser, the 1Password mini extension works as intended - loading matching logins for the loaded web-site.

Thanks, Paul

OS Version: Windows 10 Anniversary x64
Sync Type: 1Password Account

  • Hi @pbryanw,

Can you tell me which browser you're using and are you using Control + \ or Control + Alt + \?

@MikeT- Hi, thanks for your help with this. I'm using Firefox 49.0.1 x64 and my keyboard shortcut for 1Password is Control + Alt + G (I'm using G as I've binded this shortcut to one of my mice buttons, and this key works better for me).

  • Hi @pbryanw,

That makes sense now and intentional. What happens if you press Control + G instead, does it filter the list as you expected?

Control + Alt + \ is the shortcut for bringing up 1Password mini in its default database mode without doing any filling. For an example, searching for a credit card item to copy its data to fill.

It was actually a bug prior to today's update that it was filtering to the matching Logins. Now, Control + \ is reserved for direct filling (no UI if you only have one item, it'll skip it and fills directly) or showing the matching Logins list if you have more than one item while Control + Alt + \ is used for bringing up the mini without doing any filling.

We plan to add a full keyboard shortcut editor to 1Password 6 soon, so that you can bind your own custom shortcuts for each option, like Control + Alt +G for direct filling and something else for bringing up the mini.

@MikeT - Hi, thanks for clearing this up for me, and look forward to the extra keyboard shortcut functionality. I've now changed my mouse button to use the Ctrl + G shortcut. Also, many thanks to the beta team, for the "After unlocking 1Password mini, it will show you the matched Login items automatically." enhancement. It's great to see improvements & polish like this being added to the beta :+1:

(Edit: will open new thread for new issue).

  • Hi @pbryanw,

That's great and on behalf of the team, you're welcome. We can't wait to show you more of these updates, especially with new features.
