Can't scroll while in Edit mode (Logitech incompatibility)
Problem
When editing any entry in 1Password, I am unable to scroll with my Logitech MX Master wireless mouse.
Info/troubleshooting
- The behavior is consistent between the main app and 1Password Mini.
- I am able to scroll using my built-in trackpad, and with my wireless Magic Mouse.
- 1Password seems to completely disable the ability to scroll anywhere on my computer, even if it loses focus to another app.
- I manually unloaded the Logitech Options manager daemon, and the problem went away. (This is not a sustainable workaround.)
- The problem does not occur in any other contexts or any other apps, as far as I've seen in my several months of use.
Log entries
When Edit mode is engaged, and while scrolling, no entries are logged. The moment I click "Cancel" or "Save", however, the following appear:
17:44:34.476774 -0400 1Password 7 Task <F22F1741-F128-47CA-9540-89642E43AD45>.<155> resuming, QOS(0x11) 17:44:34.480055 -0400 1Password 7 Task <9C921485-A797-442A-B754-BCA1A0F127BC>.<156> resuming, QOS(0x11) 17:44:34.480664 -0400 1Password 7 ENCODE: Caching encoded userInfo to use until we are marked dirty again, returning encoded result <private> opts={ LSUserActivityContainsFileProviderURL = 0; LSUserActivityContainsUnsynchronizedCloudDocs = 0; UAUserActivityContainsCloudDocsKey = 0;} 17:44:34.490502 -0400 1Password 7 Task <2AE98971-2017-4638-8813-8C2303554CEF>.<157> resuming, QOS(0x11) 17:44:34.541713 -0400 1Password 7 ENCODE: Caching encoded userInfo to use until we are marked dirty again, returning encoded result <private> opts={ LSUserActivityContainsFileProviderURL = 0; LSUserActivityContainsUnsynchronizedCloudDocs = 0; UAUserActivityContainsCloudDocsKey = 0;}
Please let me know if there's any other information or troubleshooting that would be helpful!

Oops. I looked slightly harder and found multiple threads already addressing this issue:

I'm testing with my MX Master 2S on my MacBook, via BlueTooth. Yes..initially, scrolling is disabled when I am in edit mode in 1PW. BUT...each time, after a couple seconds, scrolling resumes!
EDIT: now it has changed to "permanent" disable of scrolling. Darn..

@VirgilBoy and @timothymh - yes, we've had inconsistent issues with Logitech MX Master 2S mice over time. It's unfortunately something we can't really solve ourselves or even troubleshoot properly because Logitech's software is not a part of macOS (obviously). One of our users suggests this as the issue: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/461107/#Comment_461107 We'd recommend you disable or uninstall the Logitech software and allow macOS to control it, which seems to help.

Thanks for the info, Lars. I don't find myself editing all that much. I'm not prepared to sacrifice the Options features, so will just deal with it.

@VirgilBoy - sounds good. :) :+1:

@VirgilBoy - excellent! I'm tempted to say "enjoy it while it lasts," but that would be cynical of me. ;) Seriously, I'm glad Logitech addressed this; it's something not in our control. I'll have to fire up the old Mini on which my wife and kids use a 2S and see if I can confirm this; I did see they had an update. Thanks for the tip! :)

Both my Macs are good now, so chances are you are OK as well

@VirgilBoy - I don't like to speak ill of any other outfits unless they really deserve it for some specific reason, but yes, it's been frustrating sometimes, as a long-time Apple user. Glad you're set, now. :)
