3 years agoFace ID Not Working [Fixed. Please see the approved answer for details.]

I have upgraded to 1Password 8 for Mac. Yesterday I had to re-set my iPhone settings and since then I cannot use Face ID to open 1Password. I have re-installed the 1Password app, checked to make sure 1Password is approved for using Face ID on my phone. Can you advise?

I have a 14 Pro Max and iPad Pro both on 16.2 and have not had this issue. I only have to enter my password on the set schedule, 2 weeks I believe.

I've been having an issue with 1Password not unlocking with FaceID ever since I updated to iOS 16.2 on my iPhone 12. 1Password opens, the FaceID window pops up, I get a green check mark, then 1Password shakes and requires my password.
I've tried resetting FaceID, I'm not using any alternate appearances, and I'm not sure what else to do -- but I do know that typing in my master password over and over again is getting really old...

Hello, the problem is still here, iPhone 14 pro iOS 16.2, now is lot of months, what are you doing to fix this?

My recommendation is revert to 1pw 7 and wait for an update.

I recently had to reset my iphone xs and since then I havent been able to log in to 1 Password (ver 8) with Face ID.

I wholeheartedly agree that the 1PW team needs to communicate a WHOLE lot better! I’m a longtime user who is becoming increasingly disillusioned by 1PW – be it the main apps, the extensions, missing/misfiring features, the utter nonplussed attitude of the 1PW team regarding transparently addressing issues in a timely manner, etc.

As I mentioned earlier I replied back to Dave-1P Happy New Year email. I got, what I think is a weak reply, in quotes:
“Hi Steven,Thank you for contacting us here at 1Password Support. My name is Jac, and Dave has passed over your email to me to help you further today.
We're aware of the issues with unlocking 1Password 8 with Face ID or Touch ID and our development team are currently investigating and working towards a fix to be released on the App Store. We hope to have this fix released in a future version of 1Password very soon, and we thank you for your patience with us as the team have been working on this.”
I replied with:
“Jac, thanks for getting back to me.I know the team is working on this but there is few and far between staff members commenting on the community forum (cf). This is suggestion: post on the forum what you said above, but please be a little more targeted with when you expect the work to be done.
If this is a global issue, which I believe is the case, start a “sticky” post at the top of the forum where you identify the issue as known and provide regular updates. Also send everyone who has posted on the thread a link to the top tier post. I would furthermore wrap all of the similar threads where face, fingerprint and other automated logins produce the same results, 1pw asks for master password multiple times to access the app.”
If you think this type of response from 1PW would help please just comment on this thread.

I would not be upset if this just started a few weeks, maybe even a month or so ago. But this thread was begun in August. There is never any information because "they have to keep things close to the vest". I should not have to use a workaround to a critical function that they still advertise on their website.
All while happily collecting our money.

To have this on your website when this feature has not been functional in 4 or 5 months?
