Being asked for my password too often

I have 1P set to ask for my password every two weeks. But it's asking more often than that. For example, it asked yesterday, and then it just asked again today. How can I troubleshoot this?


1Password Version: 8.10.12
Extension Version: 2.14.0
OS Version: MacOS 13.5
Browser: Brave

    I'm sorry that you're being asked for your account password more often than expected. So that I can better understand the situation can you please tell me the following:

    1. Are you using Touch ID or Apple Watch unlock with 1Password on your Mac?
    2. Did you start seeing the issue recently? Or has it been there for some time?
    3. Are you unlocking the 1Password for Mac app or 1Password in the browser when you're asked for your password? Are you prompted for your password in both the app and the browser? Or does one still allow you to use Touch ID or Apple Watch unlock?

    1. Touch ID but not Apple Watch.
    2. It's been off and on for the past few weeks.
    3. I am being prompted to unlock either in the 1P menu bar item or the app. I'm not able to unlock it at all in the browser extension.

    This indicates that there might be an issue with the communication between the desktop app and the extension. Can you try the following steps:

    1. Close all open web browsers.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
    3. Double-click on 1Password from your Mac's Application folder.
    4. Open your web browser.

    Unfortunately, that didn't help. Almost immediately after I followed those steps, I clicked on the browser extension and was immediately asked to type in my password, even though I had already done that earlier today.

    If you type in your account password into the browser extension then are you able to unlock the extension? Can you check to see if you have app integration turned on:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Make sure that "Integrate with 1Password app" is turned on.

    Then in the desktop app:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
    2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
    3. Click on Settings.
    4. Click on Browser.
    5. Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is turned on.

    Let me know if app integration is already turned on in both the browser extension and the desktop app.

    Yes, I am able to unlock the extension. I am using Brave, not Safari. Connect with 1Password in settings is switched on.

    Keep in mind that this issue was not limited to the browser extension. I also had to re-enter my password in the application much sooner than 2 weeks after I entered it last time.

    I'm having the same problem since one of the latest 1Password for Safari updates.
    1Password for Safari 2.14.0
    1Password for Mac 8.10.9

    I just sent the report as directed above. However, I did not receive an automated reply.

    Also, I am now getting this error when I click on the 1P icon in the browser bar.
