Cannot enable Touch ID of macOS app
I have searched this forum, but could not find this exact problem.
When I try to enable Touch ID in the preferences, the checkbox briefly gets checked, but directly unchecked again.
I did try the security.authenticatedUnlock.appleTouchId
trick, did not help.
Any other suggestions?

I noticed my I could not unlock 1Password om my Mac with Touch ID.
So I used the main password and went to settings. When I tap the Touch ID checkmark, it briefly checks, but immediately unchecks again.Searched on this forum, but could not find a similar question.
Any suggestions?

Hi @armandzwan , @TheMokaPot ,
We have identified the connection issue happening between the 1Password for Safari web extension and the 1Password for Mac desktop app. Currently, 1Password for Safari has to be unlocked separately from the desktop app due to the issue.
Since Touch ID unlock is a function from the 1Password desktop app, you cannot use it to unlock 1Password in Safari currently due to the connection issue. I'm sorry about the inconvenience and confusion it caused.
Our developers are looking into the issue so hopefully, a fix will be patched soon. Meanwhile, the connection should be working in other supported browsers, such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox, so you can use Touch ID to unlock the 1Password extension there.

I’m actually having this issue on the desktop app and on Firefox.
The Touch ID option when I click on it immediately gets unchecked and the greyed out.

@FutureOak This is not the same issue. Could you please start a new thread?

@kevin.li I might be on to something:
I openend the 1Password Mac app. (it is locked, asking for the password, no Touch ID possible)
Without entering the password, I openend the settings. You can see the Touch ID option greyed out, because 1Password is not unlocked.
Went back to the main 1Password view (leaving the settings view open), entered the password to unlock 1Password, and then I could enable the touch ID option in settings.0 -
