    I know it’s important to be apprised of new sign-ins that might be nefarious. But I’m getting these emails in my Spam folder (“ New 1Password sign-in”) probably several dozen times daily and likely due to my iOS devices and Mac all running the 1PW browser extension and also running iCloud private relay for security. I get it, but the answer isn’t to disable the Safari extension since I do like its functionality.

    So how about a preference to not notify for something like this? Let’s be real; if I’m getting dozens of these emails, it’s like the boy who cried wolf. I’m not likely to take any of them seriously, so why bother? Thanks.

    Same thing here for safari tabs loaded into the dock. Like you said, have tried everything to stop it. Will probably uninstall 1password extension and continue on with Apple Passwords.

    I currently have two accounts set up (Business and family). Since upgrading to iOS 18.3, I receive an email every time I open Safari for each account saying that I have a new sign in alert.

    When I go to look at all my trusted devices, it seems to go on forever with Safari.

    I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the beta as well as logging out and back into all of my accounts however this doesn’t work.

    Hi @dtoub, thanks for reaching out!

    I'm sorry that you're receiving sign-in email notifications several times a day. Did these emails begin recently or have you been receiving them for a long time? Can you confirm if you're using the iOS 18.3 or macOS 15.3 beta?

    I look forward to hearing from you!

    Thanks. It has been going on for many weeks and this was happening on iOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2 but also the more recent 18.3/15.3 betas.

    Happens with the beta for sure, constantly. Browser extension issues all around. Not sure it's 15.3 that's breaking 1PW and will be fixed in the next beta, or if 1PW needs to adapt to the upcoming version. I've asked, too, in another thread, but still no reply from 1PW.

    I suspect this is related to the emails “New 1Password sign-in alert” being discussed in another thread. The 1PW folks are working with Apple on that.

    I’ll chime in as well. I’m on 18.3 betas and for me it started with 18.3 iOS. Essentially every time i open safari whether it was closed completely or hanging around in the app switcher I get a sign in email. I haven’t tried it with my MacBook Pro on 15.3 betas yet so can’t say if the issue is prevalent there as well. It certainly seems like an extension issue. Thanks

    I'm going to chime in again. The workaround – to disable the 1Password for Safari extension – is a bit unsatisfactory, because apparently under the latest OS versions, you can't disable the extension on one device without it being disabled on all the others.

    So when I disable the extension on my iPad, it also gets disabled on my Mac, and then I have no access to Passwords in Safari there. And if I re-enable the extension on the Mac, then it gets re-enabled on the iPad and I immediately start getting the sign-in alert emails.

    I realize this stupid behavior is probably Apple's fault, but is there any way to disable the extension ONLY on my iPad and not on my Mac or iPhone?

    Hi there, I am looking for some help with this extension restart that many of you have reported: https://1password.community/search?domain=all_content&query=extension restart&scope=site&source=community.

    It seem that the extensions works fine, but somehow it doesn't think so since two weeks ago. I would appreciate some advise beyond: restart extension, reboot machine, uninstall/install extension.

    Attached video: https://imgur.com/a/k8P7uVl
    It happens on both safari profiles that I have. Whenever I open it for the first time, it shows that we need to restart the extension, but as you can see on the video, it works perfectly fine.

    Help!

    @dtoub

    Thanks for confirming! Since you were experiencing this prior to iOS 18.3, it sounds like you are encountering a known issue that our development team is continuing to investigate where some users have reported receiving a new sign-in email for each session when using the 1Password for Safari extension. I've added you to the list of affected users and apologize for any inconvenience.

    The emails are only meant to be sent to inform users of a new device sign-in for security purposes, however, with this in mind, if you still would like to have an option to disable the emails, let me know, and I can submit your feedback regarding to our Product team for further consideration.

    @quidlxix

    I'm sorry that you're experiencing similar trouble! Since this started upon updating to the iOS 18.3 beta, I can confirm that you're encountering a recent issue that our development team is investigating. This issue involves the extension storage in Safari is being cleared each time Safari is used. This is resulting in affected users receiving these email notifications, since the device is being recognized as a new device each time. I have shared your experience with our development team, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

    As a workaround in the meantime, you can disable the 1Password for Safari extension and use Password AutoFill to fill your credentials: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

    ref: dev/core/core#34650

    Let me know if you have any questions!

    I found the solution: Settings —> Apps —> Safari —> Extensions and turn off “Share across devices.” Absolutely infuriating not to be able to control extensions independently on each devices, turning off that setting fixes things.

    @david.m_1P thanks for the reply and thanks for the detailed info. This makes perfect sense and I appreciate the scoop. No inconvenience at all. I expect issues when running betas but I did want to be sure and address it if it was specifically18.3 related.

    Thanks again for your help!

    @DaviatorSF Good find. I had disabled that earlier in my quest to figure out what might be going on and then promptly forgotten I'd done so.

    Commenting to receive updates, if any! I’m so annoyed by the alerts and rely on them for security purposes so I do not plan to disable in the interim of any solution. I’m just glad I’m not the only one! I thought I did something while I was in Florida last week because I keep getting them with “Florida” in the location but I’ve been home for a week now and reset my password/security key multiple times since then.

    The issue goes beyond just email alerts. If you look at the list of systems linked to your account, you'll see that each time this happens the extension generates a new link, so you may have dozens or even hundreds of links to the Safari extension. This makes it much more of an annoyance or security issue than just the emails.
