In 1Password 7 > Preferences > Updates do you have Include beta builds checked? It has been suggested that solves the problem you are having.

Check for Updates is broken since BETA 1. I updated to the latest release of BETA 5, but it's still broken.
After I clicked on the Check for Updates for few seconds. An error occurred as follows:

    1Password Updater quit unexpectedly.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.

    1Password Version: 7.0 BETA 5
    Extension Version: Not Provided
    OS Version: OS X 10.13.4

    Hi,
I notice that the updater ('Look for new versions') of 1Password 7, beta-5 crashes on my Mac. It starts with a window that says 'Looking for new versions', then the window disappears and then I get to see a Mac OS error message stating that '1Password Updater stopped unexpectedly'. Is this a known problem? Thanks for your help.
    Regards, Erik Coolen

    Updater crashes here as well.

The current fix for the updater crashing is to ensure that in 1Password 7 > Preferences > Updates you have Include beta builds checked.

The Updater crashes with or without the Include beta builds option checked.

After checking Include beta builds, it doesn't crash here anymore.

Getting the same crash.. I had a window open that showed there was an update, that window went away, and I got a crash report.

When I attempt to check for updates, it just crashes.

Update: beta 6 crash occurs now also when beta is enabled (there is a new GUI frontend) where beta is a checkbox to click. Now I get always the crash new crash report #XFN-42548-726

Yup, I have the same issue. I also have Beta Updates checked..

Yes I, too, am getting for the first time a crash in the updater when checking for updates with BETA-6—and with Include beta builds checked. The updater checks then, without any further message, crashes.

Same here - crashes again on Beta 6 regardless of whether 'include beta builds' is enabled or not.

Yep. I can confirm exactly the same issue. Checking for an update in Beta 6 causes a crash.

Thanks and apologies, everyone -- we're now confirming this issue ourselves (though I haven't seen it in my own installs), and working on a fix. Pardon the inconvenience and stay tuned.

One question for folks: do any of you have Little Snitch or HandsOff! installed/running?

I have the same bug in BETA-6 and have Little Snitch running.

@Lars once you have the fix, I guess we need to download it manual - I assume updater doesn't work?

    Updater crashing.
    1Password 7 Version 7.0.BETA-6 (70000006)

I received the notification on an update. I wasn't sure if it installed. Clicking on Check for Updates brings up crash report. Clicking on the link in Notifications also reports crash.

I have Little Snitch installed on one MacBook Pro and another MacBook Pro without Little Snitch, both are running 10.13.4, and both updater installs are crashing.

Also, my iMac without Little Snitch updater is crashing, iMac is also running 10.13.4

I'm running beta 6, have "check for beta builds" enabled, and this is happening to me.

    abort() called
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException

@Lars I don't have Little Snitch or Hands Off and I am seeing these crashes.

I have "Include beta builds" checked, nothing block network traffic such as Little Snitch, but am seeing the same uncaught exception (and subsequent crash). Let me know if there's anything I can provide to your team to help diagnose the issue.

    Another data point...

I'm also experiencing the updater crash, it didn't happen before Beta 6.

I also use LittleSnitch - it's set to allow the updater to make any connection to any server (I trust AgileBits :))
