Hello @jac.pd_1p
Patience does pay off, my friend. It looks like all is well on my Mac and iOS devices. I really appreciate your kind assistance with these matters. I guess that's why I've been a loyal 1Password customer for ten plus years and have looked no further. 1Pass is the best in my book! Thank you so much for keeping us informed.

Hmm, that's odd. It's working here. I might recommend restarting the device to rule that out and if you continue to have trouble get you into email support with the extensions specialists.
Please email us using

@fathershawn,

Same Mac version as you as well.~~ignore/ App Store was slow to push the 1p for safari update, had to search the App Store myself and get the update.
Thanks

@ag_tommy the release notes for 8.10.44 do not mention a fix for this issue. Is this an oversight or has it missed this release?
8.10.44 -- Sep 4, 2024
We’re excited to share that we’ve updated the release number formatting for the 1Password browser extension! This change aligns our browser extension with the 1Password apps, so you’ll now see the same release number across all platforms. Plus, both the extension and apps will be released on the same date, for a consistent and streamlined experience.
You can now create custom passwords and report issues with the 1Password browser extension from the inline menu that appears below form fields.
The “Grant access to your account” message will now display the device name instead of the operating system when enrolling a trusted device.
You’ll now be able to delete accounts in the 1Password extension settings.
The single sign-on button will now be in focus if it is the only available authentication method.
We’ve made visual improvements to the Autofill Behavior options.
Localization has been improved for a number of our supported languages using new translations from Crowdin.
We’ve fixed an issue that prevented one-time passwords from filling if the “Sign in automatically” setting was disabled.
We’ve fixed an issue where you couldn’t sign in automatically on wordpress.com if the site was set to German.
We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password didn’t sign in automatically on arbeitsagentur.de.
We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password didn’t sign in automatically on vandijkstore.nl.
We’ve fixed an issue in iOS where you’d have to turn the extension off and on again in Settings > Safari > Extensions to get it working after quitting Safari.

It looks like that fixed it. Unlock with Apple Watch worked right away after the update. Thank you!

@telUK The desktop app and browser extension update independently. It may help to initiate the extension update directly from here: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/1password-for-safari/id1569813296?mt=12

Ignore, Its working now!!
I had to go into App Store and update the safari extension to 8.10.44 as well, App Store wasn't showing any updates, so I had to search for 1p for safari in the App Store and update it that way.
Thanks
Yep thanks @hegguardo, just had found that out.

Uninstalling/ reinstalling the safari extension has worked for me (I also updated the app too).

Yes the update did not show on load, but choosing Store >> Update page while on the Updates vertical tab revealed the update to the extension.
Glad you got it @telUK

@jac.pd_1p Would you care to share some details about why this broke?

So since my 1Password Safari plugin has been upgraded to - version 2.27.1 I am having constant problems when trying to use and authenticate to various sites etc.
Specifically, it appears the extension no longer recognises Apple's Fingerprint ID etc, so every 10 minutes when the 1Password vault locks I have to enter my 36-character password every time!!
To state that this is annoying and very inconvenient is an understatement. My 1Password APP seems to work fine with Apple Fingerprint, but your new extension and 'Experimental' Interface do not!!
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but same issues.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Since my Safari Browser Extension has been upgraded, I am having issues with unlocking my vault.
Specifically, the extension no longer recognises Apple Fingerprint ID(Touch ID). Every time the vault locks(about every 20 minutes), I have to enter my 36 character password to unlock the vault!!
My 1Password app works fine, and unlocks correctly, but the extension does not work.
This is becoming very frustrating, having to unlock with this method twice per hour, as I use my vault a lot during my working day.
I have looked into the extension settings, but there is no longer any option to use Touch ID, only extend the period when the vault is locked.
I presume this has something to with the extension now opening the new ‘Redesigned’ experience webpage, rather than use the app on your system??
Need help please, much appreciated.
Regards

That's great to hear.

Nice going @telUK Glad to hear you're back on track.
If anyone else happens along this:
8.10.44 is showing in my App Store extension (removed the word app for enhanced clarification).
To be clear this is the App Store version of 1Password in the browser. 1Password 8 and 1Password for Safari now share the same version numbers.

Sorry about the confusion before.
Good news. The fix for the connection issue is applied to the current version 8.10.44 of 1Password for Safari web extension. Here are the steps to update 1Password for Safari in Apple Store:
- Choose Apple menu > "App Store".
- Click "Updates" in the sidebar, then choose "Store > Reload Page" (or press Command-R).
- Find 1Password for Safari and click the "Update" button to apply the latest version.
After the update, let's test again to see if 1Password for Safari is working correctly for you.

I updated from the App Store and restarted Safari. The extension reports the new version - the same version as the main application. The bug persists. Every time I start Safari I have to unlock the extension, even though the main application is unlocked. Also, every time I start Safari I see the red dot indicating something to review, even though I've reviewed previously.

Just updating the existing version of 1Password for Safari didn't work for me. I had to quit Safari, uninstall 1Password for Safari, and re-download it from the App Store. Now it works.
Sorry to be harsh, but this is pretty sloppy, guys, to have a certificate just expire and break a security-related app.
Regards.

You can't count on updates, if the version number is the same, the app store assumes the app is already in the correct version. How the hell is that not obvious for literal app developers?
