Experiment #4 – New interface in 1Password.com’s vault view

That's the one I was referring to actually. When I use that search bar, if it says "Search in [vault name]" then the results are only from that vault. Are you seeing something different?
Yes, if I'm searching for something that happens to be the name of a vault as well. Try searching for the name of another vault and see if it happens for you as well.
I just had the issue with the tags again. If I try to update tags in one item, then go to another item and try to update tags there as well, it seems to save the tags fine for the first item, but then any subsequent items it does not save the changes to the tags. After moving onto another item, an error toast message pops up saying that the changes were not saved with an "Edit" button, but clicking the button does nothing.

Ohh, you're referring to vaults themselves, not items. Got it. I do see that. That's a strange one because it's helpful to be able to switch vaults from the keyboard like that, but I can see how it's confusing since the vault is not "in" the other vault.

I've been thoroughly using 1Password for over a year now at my company. It's pretty fantastic.
The only downside I've found recently is we have multiple shared vaults for different teams. Sometimes I need to share the same password with different teams. I find myself "duplicating" the password to multiple vaults to do this. If I update the password (or if anyone else does), every shared password has to be updated, too.
There should be a "Shared" section or something where you can select who has access to the password rather than having to share to multiple vaults. I'd like to have checkboxes or even the same set up as the vault settings, per password, in a Shared Passwords area. If I share "AT&T" or something with multiple people, I could only save it one time, allow view access (so they can't change it but can use it and view credentials), and see exactly who has access to the password. This would REALLY make life so much easier!

Thanks for the feedback, @jennifer7i884! This is something that's been on our minds too. It's a bit more technically complicated because currently items are encrypted with a key belonging to a vault. So you could technically achieve this by creating a new vault and moving the item there (instead of duplicating it), then sharing that vault with everyone who needs it.
But that's definitely not as good of a user experience as what you're describing, so we need to go back to the drawing board a bit to provide the ideal solution.

How can we turn off notifications for this thread? I am no longer interested in being notified about updates on this thread. 90% of the traffic from the LP forums in the last 3 months has come from this thread specifically. Where is the "stop notifications for this thread" switch? This is a function you can find on any decent forum software on the internet.
I do not want to stop all thread notifications, just for this particular thread.

I do prefer the new interface.
It is absolutely vital to be able to sort by reverse created/updated: congrats on this, but please could it be the default? Lots of casual users will never discover it otherwise, and I'm not sure if the setting is sticky.
There seems to be no notion of the 'vault sets' which some other clients/views of 1Password support. I'd like these to be selectable and, again, sticky, please. I have plenty of items I access rarely, or in another role, or which I have archived: putting these in vaults which are not normally in the 'vault set(s)` I use is invaluable.
ll in all this is a good update. Please keep it up and don't enshittify 1Password!

You previously helped us to leverage Copy Private Link while viewing a record so we could share a direct link to the record.
All our saved links recently broke despite updating them with Copy Private Link equivalents. I suspected I did something wrong in my browser bookmarks and ignored it for a while.
Today I reproduced the private link not working immediately after obtaining it.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Login to 1Password website.
2. View a record from your 1Password Favorites.
3. Click the ellipses in the upper right corner.
4. Click Copy Private Link.
5. Open a 2nd tab.
7. Enter login credentials.
8. Notice how the details frame shows a locked watermark. I should be able to view the details of the record, I viewed it in the 1st tab, used Copy Private Link, and got blocked from viewing it in the 2nd tab despite still being able to view it in my 1st tab with subsequent refreshes.
9. View a record from your 1Password Favorites and notice how the 2nd tab now shows it. This extra step should not be required.Am I doing something wrong or did this functionality recently break?

Logging in spins forever. A previous comment suggested to open a ticket with a console log. I have done that and my ticket is KUZ-68834-884.

I don't like the new design at all, because all platforms will look exactly the same. Besides, nothing was broken in the old design. Why fix something that isn't broken? I think it's a shame that 1Password has decreased in both design and reliability over the last two years.
It reminds me of Apple's new Photos app. They fixed something that wasn't broken.1 -
@rob I am now consistently encountering the error when editing an item. The first item I try to edit after logging in saves successfully, but if I try to edit a second item I get the error message "Failed to save item"
If I refresh the page, I can see that the changes I made did not save. Refreshing the page first will also allow further changes to be saved successfully, but any made without refreshing will fail with the same error message.

On the whole the redesign is positive but we have over 200 vaults so finding one in the drop down is a real pain. What would make a huge difference is either for the last six to ten to be remembered, or for vaults to be pinned. This could be like the Favourites you have within a vault, but for us that isn't important as we have loads of vaults with no more than ten items per vault.
While I am here I will mention a recent bug in the web that is annoying everyone in my company. If your session times out, which ours does after 10 minutes, the next login attempt will just permanently sit on the loading page. You have to refresh the page and then log in again for it to be successful. When you do this ten times a day this is incredibly annoying.

@Thorz unfortunately our current forum software doesn't have it. But I have two pieces of good news. We're almost done with this thread, and we're also evaluating alternative forum software. ❤️

@amh686 it is sticky (as long as your browser storage doesn't get cleared). 👍 We can re-evaluate, but no default is going to make everyone happy. I think alphabetical sorting is a pretty sane default, and it matches the old version, so it's the least disruptive.
There seems to be no notion of the 'vault sets' which some other clients/views of 1Password support.
@amh686 correct, we don't support vault collections yet on the web. The old version didn't either, so it wasn't a focus for this first version. We're working on more changes to bring the web further in line with the desktop apps in the coming months.
Thanks for the kind words!

@Icannotturnoffqa yes, we noticed this too, and it should be fixed as of yesterday's release. Can you check again now? Sorry for the trouble!

@Woody W. thanks! I will take a look.

@Mattis I'm bummed you see this as a negative thing. We'll never make everyone happy, but I believe the majority of our customers appreciate the consistency.
Besides, nothing was broken in the old design. Why fix something that isn't broken?
@Mattis well, that's not true. We have lots of issues open against the old version. But the main reasons for the change were visual consistency with other platforms and the ability to get to feature consistency more easily and stay there. The web app has lagged behind our other apps for years.
I am now consistently encountering the error when editing an item.
@willrowe I'm not sure what's going on, but that's pretty frustrating. Could you send in a browser console log for starters? Send it to support@1password.com and include a link to this thread. Then you'll get an auto-reply with a support ID; post that here so I can follow up.

@rob This morning I noticed Copy Private Links URLs now show their details, if you have access, upon entering credentials. Thanks!

This is what I did to get around frequent timeouts with pages to records open:
1. Log into 1Password web app.
2. Click on the upper left button » Manage Account
3. Auto-Lock » Settings (desktop = bottom left, mobile = in the middle).
4. Change it from 10 to 300 minutes.
5. Visit the page and enjoy less timeouts.2 -
Was the original version just killed off entirely? I haven't seen any official mention of it being shut down, but I seem to be stuck on the slow version today with no option to return to the nicer one.

Thanks @Icannotturnoffqa
I'll try this. Hopefully it won't get overruled by some central policy my company has.

@Chris01 sorry I missed your post at first. It must have come through while I was composing my reply. I wanted to call out for this that you can also search for vaults in the search bar. Recent or pinned vaults would be interesting, though.
If your session times out, which ours does after 10 minutes, the next login attempt will just permanently sit on the loading page.
@Chris01 thanks for mentioning this. I think this is the third report like this I've seen. I've not been able to reproduce the issue yet, but I'm still looking into it. As @Icannotturnoffqa mentioned, you can also increase the auto-lock time in your profile settings.
I'm collecting logs to look for patterns, so if you're up for it, I'd love to get a copy of your browser logs when this happens. Send it to support@1password.com and include a link to this thread. I'm about to close down this thread, but if you'd like to DM me the support ID you receive, I'll be able to follow up more quickly.

@Icannotturnoffqa great! Thanks for the update.
Was the original version just killed off entirely?
@d9a we've gradually removed the option to switch back to the old version. On Friday that went to 100%, yes.

As I mentioned in the post above, the new web experience has now been fully rolled out. 🎉 Thank you to everyone who has contributed feedback here! You've shaped the product and helped us prioritize what comes next. Because it's no longer an experiment, I'm going to close down this Labs thread, but we of course welcome your continued feedback either here on the forum or directly at support@1password.com.
Cheers!
